Bordeaux Closeout

Neighboring Poujeaux in the Moulis-En Medoc, the small estate of Château Bel-Air Lagrave produces reasonably priced age worthy Bordeaux’s. This 10 hectare estate has been owned by the Seguin-Bacquey family for over 150 years. Their vineyard holdings consist of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot. Oak aging is around 18-20 months.

This has all the hallmarks of a well aged Bordeaux. Notes of pencil shavings, leather, wild blackberries, oak spice and tobacco. I know the younger generation was releasing several old vintages to cover that demanding inheritance that tax, but I have not found much info on recent vintages. Hopefully they are still producing this wonderful old school style of #Bordeaux
