Christmas Bubbles

Joyeux Nöel! Holiday wishes to everyone! Olivier and Florence Michel have continued their family domain in Moussy, Champagne which was founded in 1847. Their 12 hectares in Moussy, which overlooks Taittinger’s vines, is tended with sustainable and organic farming practices. It has been said that one can always recognize the Michel vines because the vines and the cover crop below are always full of life. The 2007 Blanc de Meunier is made from 100% Pinot Meunier from their finest and oldest parcels. It was aged for 8-12 months in old oak barrels before bottling. At over 10 years old this specific Champagne is in an ideal spot. Elegant, complex and structured. I do drink wines from the Michel domaine often. They are approachable at a young age and the price point is not too steep. The recent vintages of this wine sport a new label. This one (the old one) is more classic, but I see the need to make the change for a more modern look.
