Duo winemakers, Jean-Baptise Bonnigal and Stéphane Bodet, became friends in winemaking school and now are making wine together. They took over Jean-Baptise’s family domaine, Domaine de la Prévôte. It is now called Bonnigal-Bodet. They are primarily focused on Chenin Blanc and Malbec. Organic farming and great care in the cellar ensure these wines are fully expressive of their exceptional terroir in the Touraine-Amboise region of the Loire Valley.
The ‘Le Buisson’ Chenin is from their younger vines. The wine is fermented and aged in oak. The oak compliments this wine by adding some richness while keeping to a fresh acidic style of Chenin. Its has great minerality along with floral and fresh fruit aromas. A satisfying pairing with richer seafood and soft cheeses.
